The College of Arts and Sciences develops people for others, ready to face the intellectual, vocational, and spiritual challenges of today and tomorrow.

The College of Arts and Sciences offers two graduate programs:

• The Philosophy Department offers an on-campus, 30 credit Master of Arts degree. The Master’s in Philosophy program promotes skills of reflection and self-examination and prepares students for critical engagement with and across human cultures as well as a variety of career or further graduate studies pathways. This program is available in 1- and 2-year formats and through a 4+1 accelerated pathway for Gonzaga undergraduate students. Program website: Master of Arts in Philosophy.
• The Department of Religious Studies offers an online, 33 credit Master of Arts degree in Theology and Leadership (MATL). With more than a decade of experience as an online graduate program, this program offers a dynamic learning model that blends asynchronous coursework with optional live conversations and two short summer on-campus immersions. The MATL meets the educational requirements for Board Certified Chaplain status with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); graduates of this program have combined their theological work with diverse career commitments and pathways.
