The minor is for students not majoring in either the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE).
The minor in AI in Engineering and Applied Science provides students with a focused and interdisciplinary pathway to develop foundational knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence. Designed for students outside of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the program integrates core concepts in programming, data analysis, and computer systems with hands-on experience in applying AI techniques to real-world problems. Emphasizing areas such as biomedical applications, robotics, and automation, the minor reflects the growing importance of AI as a transformative technology across a wide range of industries.
Through a combination of theoretical learning and experiential projects, students gain the ability to design, implement, and evaluate AI-driven solutions while considering broader societal, ethical, and economic impacts.
